How would you explain our 2009 Big Nite Out memory verse?

"The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost" Luke 19:10

With the acclamation ‘Jesus Christ Changes lives' ringing out around Lisburn Baptist, this year's event was once more a highlight in the calendar of many young lives.

Approximately 215 children representing a variety of churches from near and far came together on Friday 24 April for a fantastic night, organised by the recently formed Baptist Youth Children's Ministry Committee.

The evening started with a creative poster competition to illustrate our memory verse and was jointly won by Carr and Knockconny. This was followed by enthusiastic singing with a mix of novel and familiar songs. Peter Lawther and Leanne Dunlop led an imaginative exploration of the memory verse, which included an appearance by Mary, Zaccheus and the Roman Soldier, all of whom recounted firsthand the life changing impact of meeting Jesus.

After a lively quiz to recap what had been learnt, many smiling faces gratefully collected their goody bag and headed for the buses, promising to return next year.

Don't worry...you won't be asked to teach the verse, but why not join us next year and let us do the work! Come and see some new ideas in childrens work and give your group the opportunity to meet lots of other young people enjoying God's word.
